Tire noise question Michelin X M&S 300

       I recently replaced a front axle bearing an a '86 CSTQ that I acquired
with Michelin X M&S 300 tires. I thought the noise was from the bearing. I
still have an incredible amount of road noise. Is this other peoples
experience? Or, should I continue looking for bad bearings? The tires are
directional, but are properly mounted.
