Bypass valve

I just had a blowby valve installed on my 87 200cs turbo quattro after
accumulating all of the individual parts. Jim Blau at Blaufergnugen has the
blowby valve, and most all other parts you will need. It may well be my
imagination, but it seems shifting from first to second is now smoother, as
is general driving when lifting off the gas pedal. The car just seems to
run better. So if you have an older turbo quattro, and have been wondering
about the project, DO IT.
What held me back for a while was my old style intercooler did not have the
3rd outlet, and could not locate one at the local salvage yards. I was
pleasantly surprised to find that the one on my 89 200 non quattro had the
newer cooler with the third outlet capped. Since it had a slight air leak
that started to cause me problems, we pulled it off, repaired it, and put in
an older style intercooler. The repaired unit was installed in he 87 and
works great.
