I completely agree with Glen here.

I've owned a couple UrQ's, ranging from dead stock to a setup almost
identical to Glen's (minus the additional displacement).

After owning a completely stock UrQ, I can see why they didn't sell well here
in the US. My '85 has a K24 turbo and IA Stage 1 chip running 13psi.
Performance with the stock head and cam was very good.

When we found the head cracked beyond what I was satisfied with in my '85, we
replaced it with a KH hydraulic head and stock KH cam. performance was
pitiful. Nice smooth power, but little mid range and no top end.

So I had Delta Camshafts regrind my stock WR mechanical cam into a dual
profile (268/272) hydraulic cam. WOW! This _really_ woke the car up. Still
decent low end, absolutely amazing mid range and stunning top end, pulling
hard all the way to the stock fuel cut-off.

The downside? Can't pass IL emissions to to high HC (about 300ppm) resulting
from the cam overlap and low idle.

BTW, the car is still for sale. I refuse to detune it (even though I could
swap in the stock MH cam and easily pass emissions); I'd rather it go to a
good Audi home where emissions aren't an issue...
