State Farm does the same thing if you want full coverage and the car was not bought new. I don't blame them. When I bought my Coupe there was a HUGE dent in the sail panel. If they didn't inspect, I could have come back to them a month later said that a tree limb fell on it...

You must be a Geico customer.  That's the only company that I know of that 
inspects your vehicle for damage and condition before insuring you.  That's 
so they can stick it to you more in the event of a loss (they will deduct 
from what they repay you for wear/tear/damage for each item listed on their 
report in the event of a total loss.)
