89 200 tq bad fan burnt wires - help

I have this 89 200tq that the rad. fan locked up and melted some wires. Just started working on it and I think I might need some help if anyone has been through this before. I've got the rad out to replace the fan and get to the wires easly that I know are affected. The car has two other problems I assume due to electrical shorting but not verified yet. With the engine relay in, the fuel pump will run continusly even with the key turned off and the brake lights are all ways on , again even with the key off.
Has anyone out there taclked something like this before? How much work did you have to do, where did you start? and gotaches? Any and all experience will be greatly appreciated.
