Very well written, and I couldn't agree more.  And
yes, I would be willing to submit to periodic
recertification and some additional costs.  At work we
need to do it for a single shot, powder actuated
nailing device.  Maximum # of people killed or maimed
=1.  Unfortunately, the toll of an auto accident is
often higher.
