Strut housings...

My car is currently at the shop getting the frame straightened...

Can anyone measure, or know, the oter diameter of the strut housingsfor a 1989 
90 quattro?  I have the later rear suspension (two piece strut and hub).

I'm trying to get coil-overs, but I need to know the O.D. of the strut 
housings!!
