The Baby - long - (Now synth. oil)

I may be wrong here, but it is my understanding that, when oil leaks are
present, synthetics such as Mobil 1 are more likely to get past the faulty
seal than an equivalent wight dino oil. I remember hearing somewhere that
the molecules of synthetic oil are more uniform, and designed to flow more
easily, therefore they also leak more easily. So, you may see some
improvement if you switch to dino oil, based on what I've said.
Additionally, you could probably switch to a heavier weight oil, especially
with summer coming, and get by until you get sick of burning up oil.
Also, some people will say that all 2.8 engines burn oil. I think they're
just trying to justify the fact that theirs does. I have one with 115,000
miles on it, and one with 151,000 miles on it, and neither burns a drop
between changes. And I use Mobil 1.
