Unless you are running this on a drag strip, please don't, as it is
improper and IMO immoral to remove the cat.

Check out the graph in Probst's Bosch fuel injection book. If you saw how
much NOx these things remove even when at stoich, you would not question
this.

If performance is important then figure out how to run two or three high
flow cats in parallel. It just isn't worth sacrificing the air quality for
going faster, and for what purpose.

Most emissions tests don't check for NOx that is why removing a cat won't
hurt.

Sorry to get off on this. I am not necessarily a tree hugger, but I think
we can participate in our sport by following the rules, speicially when the
rule won't kill us, it not following them that will!!

Soapbox rant off.

Ben

[Illegal? Yes. Improper or immoral? Perhaps not. A properly adjusted
Audi engine should have no trouble meeting emissions standards even without
a kitty. If that is the case with a specific car then why not replace the
kitty with a "test pipe"? Perhaps even a test pipe camouflaged to look
like a kitty. Remember, there are places in the US where there is no such
thing as an emissions test.]
