Exhaust manifold studs - continued

Today I tried removing the studs. First tried two nuts, no success.
Then Vise-Grips on the stud - removed 4 studs, snapped one.
Then I got out the MIG welder and welded small nuts onto the studs.
That way, they all came right out without any problems at all.
But I still have one problem. The lower rear stud on #5 snapped, and
the part sits *almost* flush with the head, just about 2 mm inside the
head. To get this out look hard/impossible without pulling the head.
Any good tips on removing this? With this being a 20v engine (3 studs
per cylinder), can I just leave it there, and drive just fine with one
stud less? The #5 cylinder has got one stud at top (went out OK) and
two on the bottom (one OK, one snapped).
I don't have the greatest welding skills, so building up the remains
of the stud with the welder is something I won't try, I'll probably
damage the head..
