Exterior Cleanup and SUV'd

    Finally got around to washing the car today and noticed some interesting
things.  First was the huge deep dent on the passenger's front door.
Someone in a white SUV really smacked their door hard against the panel,
cracked the paint even, sigh.

    The next thing I noticed was something I had forgotten about.  The shop
that did the body work in Jan left wax or polishing splatters all over the
roof and spoiler.  I tried removing the splatters with some polishing
compound a week after the work was done, seemed to come off, but I guess not
fully because it's still all over.  It seems to be hardened and can be
scratched off with a fingernail.  I tried polishing compound a bit today,
but it doesn't seem to do anything.  Stuff has been on the car since Jan,
but the winter is so dirty around here I didn't pay much attention.  Any
suggestions?
