Between my last post and reading your response, I checked The Parts
Connection's website, and I see that they offer both inner and outer CV joint
kits. For the moment, let's assume that it's the outer, on your theory that the
outers work harder. My reservation about a used halfshaft is that the CV joints
on it may be OK for now, but presumably they're closer to their eventual failure
than a new one would be. If I buy a new CV joint, then I don't have to pay for
an entire halfshaft. Comments?
