Seems to me I remember someone stating a preferred contact at the Tire Rack=
. I could use someone to talk to about an issue I've got right now. As no=
ted before, one bad SP9000 replacement after a blowout set up an oscillatio=
n that trashed my other three tires with uneven inside and outside edge wea=
r on previously even wearing tires after about 500 miles. Tires had/have 8=
/32" tread left. They "graciously" offered me a the commercial price on a =
set of Sumitomo's for replacement, saving me $56...versus the loss of three=
not-yet-half worn $175 SP9000's and the cost of shipping, mounting and bal=
ancing. SO, I queried about recouping some of that loss with a commercial =
price on say, a set of Superleggera's. They came back and said yes...and t=
hen quoted me $20 off per $280 wheel when anyone knows the commercial price=
is well below that...confirmed through multiple sources at $225 per wheel,=
not $260. I just hate being lied to as if I'm a punk kid that doesn't kno=
w sh*t, especially while being told that they value my business and want to=
keep me as a happy customer. Hell, I've been a customer of theirs for may=
be 20 years through three states and five Audi's; P7's, P700Z's, D40M2's, S=
P4000's, SP8000's, SP9000's and more (Triumphs, Fiats and Alfas and their t=
ires).
Sorry for the vent, but at 47, I just don't really like having to put up wi=
th this kind of BS more and more. Would like to air it out with an older t=
imer at the Tire Rack.
Steve
