My daughters coupe has been running a bit rough, and since I haven't given it
much attention lately (daughters with cars are not seen very often), I
figured it needed a few ignition bits replaced. The cap and rotor were in a
state that had me wandering how it ran at all. I renewed them and the plugs,
and found a crack in the waffle hose, and replaced that as well. Having a
basement full of spares has it's advantages.
As a matter of course, I took the ISV off and cleaned it, but it appeared
fine enough.
Now it surges terribly unless the ISV is unplugged. What the ???
This attention was all prompted by the car habitually revving to 2100 at
start (no peddle), and then settling to a normal idle.
I can't find any other vacuum leaks, so what else am I missing?
