Hi Stephane,

I'm not Tom, but I remember the post.  The thread was about him powder coating them, at the time expecting that the rough surfaces would be filled in with material, resulting in a smooth finish.

But that didn't work and the finish was still rough, but coated.  Hence, (primer) filler and paint are being used.

Actually, reading it again, isn't that what Tom summarized in the post you replied to? :D

Basically, had the powdercoat filled in the roughness, then there wouldn't have been any paint, right Tom?

I would rather have powder coating than paint, because paint chips.  I suppose aircraft paint might be another story.
