Crank Case breather hose

Good morning all.. I was fussing under the hood of my
98 A4q 2.8 30v this weekend, and i managed to break
the breather hose that runs from the #2 valvecover
over across to the back of #1 (it was EXTREMELY
brittle, and I think it may have been already cracked,
I barely touched it and it just broke clean through)..

I made a repair on this hose using some 100mph tape,
and plan on replacing the hose ASAP, but here is the
question.. Is this hose under vacuum, and, if there
was a leak in this hose, would it cause a rough and or
unstable idle? I am not getting any codes at all, and
very few if any misfires are being detected, though
every once in a while, it will misfire audibly.

ANy BTDTs will be greatly appreciated!
