Hi Audifans,
I have a 1990 200TQ Wagon with a 1991 Intercooler, K24 turbo, bypass valve,
and a 1.8 bar chip and spring. Since putting on the IC, the car started to
ping rather dramatically. I'm beginning to think the larger IC is causing
the turbo to exceed an efficient PR, and as a result it is heating the
airmuch hotter than the larger, more efficient IC can make up for it.
Couple of questions:
1. Any suggestions for an INEXPENSIVE dual air temp sensor (or two
singles)to hook up both the turbo coldside exit and IC exit?? Measuring the
temps would be a smart thing.
2. I did an archive search, and the T03/K26 Garrett/KKK Hybrid seemed to be
a possibility over say an RS2 turbo. Anybody running one, comments? Also,
what is the best solution for the differing oil and water lines??
3. I'm going to do a new head, EM, and IM, and was wondering if I should
use a 1990 spec MC-2 setup, or something else. I will do a full port and
polish on the EM, IM, and the head, including matching. Anybody got
anything for sale cheap?? I'm in So Cal.
