I bought a kit, and in that kit was a big Allen head
bolt, I too tried hammering the joint off, but with no
luck. So I took the bolt and screwed it into the
joint until it popped it off the axle. It was really
easy once I figured out what that bolt was for! Also,
make sure and replace the retaining clip before you
put the joint back.
