Hi all,
Has any one out there have any success with taking the output from the Bose
(Blaupunkt Delta in this case) head unit that runs to the speakers and
running it into an aftermarket amp? As one rear amp has failed on both mine
(90 V8) and my wife's car (99 A4), I plan on replacing the (Poor design and
sounding) rear stock speakers and their attendant amps.
I think I read somewhere output was nom. 3 Ohms; can anyone confirm....
If not, I will check it myself with a meter...but it's cold tonight, so maybe
someone knows offhand.
I also plan to tap into the line level output from the fronts to run through
a crossover and some SAS tweeters I have; (4 ohm) they should handle a
slightly lower load no prob., they will sit in the dash speaker mounts for
better imaging of the highs.....!
Of course, I know about some recalls one Bose stuff limited to other models
that do not apply, so I do not think I will chase AOA, as I do not think it
worth it anyway, as the sound from the Bose systems was never as good as what
I have put together with decent cheap speakers and amps......the system seems
to lack decent/clean high end FREQs., and overwhelm the mids.....and the bass
is just plainly not low enough for decent reproduction I need for the
jazz/rock I like.
I will do this all myself, so, I could inform others (if wanted) of the
outcome and procedures. E-mail me off list after the coming weekend if
someone has as question.
Thanks in advance
John
