common thread: when to go to syntho

	2000 A4 avant 1.8t with APR chip.

	i'm goin in for 35k service on monday and am considering bringing
with me some mobil 1 and having them make the switch over.  two questions,
one easy, and one not.

	the easy one:  ho much oil need i bring?

	the hard one: is this a good time to go to syntho?  i've not kept
up on the threads for my A4 at all.  once i sold my URQ, there was little
i had to do to it; the dealer does it all.  i know for other vehicles there
is often wisdom about when to switch and what might happen.  for instance,
i have a BMW R1150GS, and common wisdom is not to switch to syntho on that
until the engine stops burning oil - which can occur between 3000 miles and
50,000 miles depending on the bike.

	how about for this car?
