5k Pierburg fuel pump installation

After a stranding a few months ago, my three-year-old, Czech-built Bosch pump
has run fine since I removed its screen and cleaned the tank... but I don't
have much confidence that that fixed things, especially since the pump
continues to be loud. My wife and I are going on a 2000-mile road trip to
Utah's national parks over Thanksgiving; part of me wants to experiment and
see if this de-screened pump lives, but the part of me that could wind up
stuck somewhere in Utah doesn't.
So, I've decided to put in a Pierburg fuel pump. Cheap peace of mind--and
noise reduction--and I've got to fix a stuck fuel gauge sender anyway.
It sounds like the Pierburg differs from the Bosch as follows:
(1) Electrical connectors: can you just crimp male spade terminals onto the
harness, to mate with the Pierburg's connector?
(2) Eliminated damper: does an acorn nut come in the box, to replace the
damper? I haven't found a supplier that knows.
(3) Mount: I heard the diameter of the body is less than the Bosch's and you
need an adapter? (This is an '87 turbo; I think the N/A pump is a different
diameter, so maybe I'm confusing that.)
Thanks for the help.

P.S. I'm probably going to go with Ron Wainright's source: Greenfield
Imported, www.gicp.com, $170, have to order. But www.performancemotorcars.com
has it in stock for $170. Are people still happy with them?
