Hi Konstantin,
I had a problem with inop rear wiper. I may have written it up for the
archives but I cant recall for sure. Try a search.
the car concerned is an 89my 100 Avant. Assuming your car is similar;
The relay is on the auxiliary relay panel. Now my car is RHD so its
under the dash on the drivers side.As to which position the relay was in on
the panel I cannot remember, but I seem to recall that it didn't correspond
with where I thought it should be. How I identified it was I think from the
part no, and also the fact that it is a compact one about 1 inch cubed,
similar to the one for the front wipers. If desperate you could always (with
the car stationary) try removing unknown relays from the aux. panel and
seeing what stops working?!?
In my case the problem was the steering coloumn switch. I t just needed
cleaning. I would suggest identifying the relevant pins on the multi-plug
connector to the coloumn switch and jumping the appropriate ones to see what
happens. In my case it was the first thing I should have done, and the last
thing I actually did as I had worked my way from the wiper forwards.
One thing I did do when I found the relay was to carefully remove the
cover and manually operate it, which proved that the relayed circuit worked.
If you do find the relay you may want to consider trying that.
