shrapnel knobs and cheap chips

Hello Steve........I've been running a resistor mode and manual WG pressure
control valve on my 87 5ktq for about 5 years................got the parts
from Paul Timmerman, inventor of the Shrappnel Knobben.

Paul's mode on my car s a 475 ohm resistor between pins 1 and 10 in the ECU.

It advances the timing across the entire RPM range, and fools the ECU into
not shutting down the fuel pump at the pre-set limit.

The mode runs the mixture a bit on the lean side, and your sparkers will be
showing that by their white color. I never strapped the intercooler and it
never blew in 5 years.

Last month I installed a true chipped ECU, with the QLCC code changes, and
the car runs much smoother and stronger while doing all the good stuff that
it did with the cheap mod. I got my QLCC chip in Annapolis from Ben Swann

After running both mods, I'd suggest that you contact Ben and discuss the
cost of going to the QLCC code. It wasn't that expensive, and the results
were very rewarding. I think he has a wagon like yours.
