Greetings,
I posted last week re: the bizarre behavior of buddy Tom's '86 CGT.
Was thinking head gasket- when I pulled plugs and saw coolant in #1, I knew=
it. A couple nights of busted knuckles and it's almost back together (did =
the pump and belt, and gotta put the front covers together). So, Tom's thin=
king a CGTt is going to take shape. We found a k26 for $30 (50% off sale at=
the salvage yard!) and got the A/C compressor out, and are wiring for a tr=
unk-mounted Optima battery- so I guess the project is slowly underway. Ques=
tions for the type 85 turbo guys:
Anyone figure out a way to A/C one? In Phoenix, air is mandatory- can't liv=
e without it. Links for pix of how a urQ does it, at least?
Is there such a beast as a 4k with manual steering? I realize it would be h=
eavy at parking speed- but it would be nice to make more room underhood...
Thanks!
Rob
