4kq center diff noise

You do not have to remove the trans -either just the 3 bolts holding the
yolk onto the center diff for just the rear bearing, or, to remove the
whole center diff, a bolt under a hex cap on the back of the trans above
the diff, the lock actuator rod, & as memory serves, 7 bolts holding
diff to rear of trans. Rear bearing & seal are ~ $100 from Clair, &
hardware (bolts,washers, & plates) another $60. There are 2 inner
bearings, the larger  discounting @ $150. Chris Semple may be able to
supply a complete used trans/diff unit @ a great price (Force5auto.com).
