Clutch Slave Disaster Revisited

Hope this will be of interest. Finally got my '85 5ks
back from the shop. I'd broken off the piece on top
of the tranny that houses the slave and ended up
having it tig welded back on. Cost me $450 cdn
including taxes, which included a tow to the welding
shop, removing the distributor and other parts around
the area to be welded and welding the tranny itself.
The welder put a gusset on top of the housing, so it
appears to be pretty strong. Didn't have to have the
tranny removed, which was nice. Haven't had a really
good look at it since it was dark when I picked the
car up, but everything seems to be working as it
should, which is nice.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice and condolences.
