I stopped at the VW dealership about an hour ago with paper in hand. I
just scribbled some numbers down and in ETKA one of the diagrams kinded
of looked like the thing I needed. When I asked for the connector they
started their nonsense again about having to buy the entire wiring loom.
:( I finally forced them to listen to me and check for the item I had
listed down. It was part number 893 971 974 (flat contact housing) which
was listed in one of the 4-pin connector sections in ETKA.
I just ordered one blind with the hope it is correct. There are other
numbers in ETKA under this part number and it looks like the thing is
available for 1mm, 2.5mm and 6mm pin sizes.
So here's hoping that it arrives by Friday and it is the correct thing.
It cost me $2.
Right, so now I'm ready to take bets that this item doesn't include the
female pins and is merely the plastic housing. :)
As for the sensors.; $28 for the oil temp sensor, $78 for the oil
pressure sender, $22.85 for the 2-pin thermo switch (054 919 369 B).
I'll be checking the local NAPA-like store for these items as they
quoted me $25 (estimate, can't recall exact price) for the pressure
sensor.
The only oil pressure sender part listed for the MC engine was the
"black" one. I scratched some crap off the old sender and the plastic on
the top is black. So correct part seems to be 035 919 561A which is the
0-5/1.8 bar item.
I think the ETKA part description must indicate the pressure switch it
is used in conjunction with as the pressure switch I replaced was the
1.8 bar item and not the 0.3 bar.
Anyway, we'll see by Friday hopefully. :)
