Running lean on boost

 Thanks Brett,Man, the more you all mention, the more I realize just how mu=
ch I've done to this car. I replaced the fuel tank last winter with a unit =
from a '91 100 quattro. That unit is after Audi stopped adding the fabled l=
ining. The fuel pump was not replaced at that time. It was replaced a few m=
onths before I replaced the tank. The tank was so bad it would clog the scr=
een in a matter of a week. The filter was replaced last month. Again. The o=
ld one was in great shape.One other thing I noticed was that in adjusting t=
he mixture this last time (few days ago), it took a lot of turning to make =
the mixture rich, and quite a bit the other direction to lean it out again.=
 Far more than usual. The more I think about it, the more I lean towards th=
e pump. Everything I've done lately points towards it. It is Loud. I was wo=
rried about delivery and checked for clogged lines, replaced the fuel filte=
r=2E It does not seem to be delivering the required amount of fuel. I still=
 have not done a delivery rate test as I've had no time over the last few d=
ays, but I did order a pump today and will have it tomorrow. Hopefully afte=
r work I will be able to install it.Thanks again everyone. If anything else=

endenning..How old is the fuel filter?..Also, pump noise is occasionally ca=
used by a clogged screen in the..tank...usually the tank lining, I think. A=
 fuel pump delivery test..will help isolate the problem.....Brett
