It won't work on the 4k/5k.

They have a solid, threaded shaft sticking out of the cv joint, and a
big nut is used to secure it after sliding it through the bearing.

The type 89, and maybe other later Audis, has a threaded hole in that
shaft, and a special bolt is used to secure it.

With the shaft out of the car, the bolt goes in far enough to push the
axle stub out of the cv joint.  The Bentley shows a "special tool" which
is basically a long threaded rod with a means to turn it.
