Purchase '91 200 20V?

Having owned both, apples to apples, the later cars are tighter and have
better build quality. I also think the later cars look more modern.
An S6 wagon still looks like a current model, while a 200 wagon looks
like the bastard child of an old 100 and a Scirocco. :)
The problem is, compare a 91 200 wagon at $8000-9000 (current market
rates) to a 95 s6 wagon at $18000-20000, and that's a lot of money to
set aside for repairs.
I'm currently debating whether to keep mine, simply because I know that
it's going to suck up time and money with repairs. I'm thinking of
proactively replacing anything that is likely to fail, but that's a few
grand right there (insert sound of Bernie falling to the ground with a
thud).
If you're looking at sedans, the prices are a bit lower on both ends.
