I had the same problem and used duct tape. Wrapped it about 4 or 5 times around
and used about 4 tie-wraps spaced apart.  Been working for about 6 months so far.
I always keep a roll of tape in the trunk along with a heater valve, radiator hose, alt. belt

and of course tools.
