White Face Gauges

I was actually considering taking my gauge faces to a silk-screen type
facility and having them used as a template to apply a white face to an
opaque red piece of plastic (or vinyl, or whatever they suggest). That way
I can keep my back-lit faces and have white face with black lettering in the
day and dark face with red lettering at night.

Hi Chris, this line in your post caught my attention...

because I am looking at doing the same thing. I have the gauge
cluster out of my 1984 5kt parts car which I want to use for white gauge
faces for my 86 5ktq daily driver. Have you come up with a way to put the
markings back on after painting? I was thinking of having a computer
graphics place make up some new markings decals to put on after I paint the
faces. I'd be interested to hear any ideas you might have, or anyone else
for that matter..
