Little tip I've been passing along since I found it over on one of
the Volvo mailing list FAQs....

...clamp the brake line with a hose clamp or a pair of vise
grips(with a hose over the jaws to protect the brake line.)

Why?

It keeps all the crap that's inside the caliper out of:
-the proportioning valve
-the ABS unit
-the master cylinder

Basically, it keeps the overall "flow" of fluid over its life one
way- reservoir to caliper and out of the car.

The volvo guys swear it reduces MC failures and such- sounds like a
great idea to me. Only caveat is to make sure you protect the line.
