Frightening news...

I do remember a bunch of complaints about the type44 engine mounts
made in China. For some reason, it seems very tough to monitor the
quality outside of the oem manufacturers country of origin. The Czech
fool pump is an example.
I can't say much for the Spanish, Italian, or French made products. I
did use a DOLZ Spanish water pump from Blaufergnugen years ago. It
was an extremely well made unit. My Czech fool pump installed
recently by the po of my 200 was noisy as hell. Very obviously new,
too.
Going back to the original topic, making the cars over there will
allow them to custom tailor the car for the intended market, too.
They'll probably see the diesels and smaller engines, along with
optional a/c.

When you say imitation, you mean non-oem parts right? I would
imagine if they are from genuine Audi suppliers, they would be of
decent quality even if they are manufactured in China, no?
What was that one part that is super-cheap and crappy in our
cars? Was it the Type 85 power window stuff or something? I forget,
it was made somewhere like Costa Rica.
