Actually, the transmission casing (bell housing) does have some space to
accommodate the sensors. This is the case with my auto to manual tranny
conversion using an MC-1 engine and a 016 "UW" 5-speed transmission
which looks to be a very early 80s gearbox. I will have to cut some
metal from the transmission's front casing just to get the sensors in.
Not a major amount.
