timing belt tensioner for AAR engine...

Hi!

I've got someone over here looking for a decent priced belt tensioner
for the 2.3-litre 5-cylinder 10-valve AAR engine from the Audi 100
1991-onwards. I'm not familiar with this engine, but the tensioner seems
to be some oil-pressured thing. His has seized twice in the past and it
seems a routine timing belt check recently indicated a very shiney outer
surface to the belt.

The local Audi-agent price is over $200. A second-hand part is $75, but
this time round they'd like to avoid this scenario. :P

Is the bearing part of this tensioner servicable?
