oil cooler lines

The different metals in the oilcooler and the oil lines (steel looking) are
a cause for failure. In the 90 200 Avant I bought my brother saved the show
by pulling off and shutting the motor down when mine popped off. Spend the
coin and get new replacements.
Dealer was $100 or so, try Chris at forcefive.com: he has been good on
price. The new line has a metal retained for other -power- lines like the
alt/starter etc. either disconnect and refeed the red power lines or cut and
replace rubber grommet in the cut bracket. I have a picture somewhere.
Not an uncommon thing to happen. I think Chris had one pop in his yard when
the customer was coming in to look at the car. Point: old line gonna fail
some day. We're taking Turbo versions here.

Subject: 5000 CSTQ Oil Cooler Line Fix?
Hi Audifans,
Has anyone been successful in fixing a leak in the oil cooler
lines due to a rust-weakend crimp collar? Is there some kind of a clamp
that can be applied over the rusted collar that will re-seal the hose
joint? Thanks for any advice on minimizing repair $$. Couldn't find
anything less than haudraulics shop ersatz hose replacement ideas in the
archives.
