delay of interior lighting: FAILURE?

This is where you will see the more intelligent design features of the C4
model.
The IC is easy to take out with the steering wheel extended out and down,
there is plenty of length on the wire harness to slide it out and see the
connectors you need to un plug.
I can go through it tonight and take some pictures and refresh my memory of
the steps involved.

Excellent point on the door switches Kevin. IME, the only fail mode in the
door switches that would cause this would be a broken pin (which I have
experienced on my 5ktq). They are open contacts when the doors are shut.
Easiest way to confirm the door switches are all okay is to turn on the
radio or headlights with ignition off and doors shut. No warning tone =
switches all open contacts. (Assuming you didn't yank the warning tone relay
out that is.)
Your caution on the ignition switch scares me even more now ;-) I assume
that the "easy to remove instrument cluster" requires defusing the airbag
and removing the steering wheel? I really didn't want to learn how to do
that this soon ;-) The Bentley CD is, uh, cumbersome. Have a good
step-by-step write-up?
