Sound is cross between whine and growl

sounds suspiciously like the noise on my 5ktq that I have determined is the
distributor gear.  It becomes especially noticeable when the engine is
unloaded (ie, that short time immediately after you take your foot off the
gas, and before the engine is loaded by deceleration)

check it out.
