Did you notice the nice whole cut into the hood?
You should have seen them working with the SawZall during Ojibwe 2002 on it
because the throttle cable linkage was binding.
It's a 7A motor that has been turbo'd with lots of work. They're a good
team, nice folks. I talked extensively with them at Prescott 2001 about
their plans as the car was not yet complete. They also have a very cool
rally-dog!
The Team Rally-Plex Grp A Ex-works S2 might actually see some action again.
John Rek (team owner) has been giving me recent updates that indicate he is
really working on completing the car.
No word on the special rear wheel bearings, but the front suspension is on
the car!
We've been out of commission since Cherokee Trails 2001, and going through
a few suspensions.
The current one being installed is a custom setup of the DMS Monster (60mm)
dampers.
It retains the older style uprights instead of switch to the 2-piece.
They sure are pretty.
So maybe, just maybe I will get back into the right seat before 2003.
Sometime in early 2004 we are probably going to switch to a Mitsu EVO,
which is currently under construction.
Anyone want to buy a REAL S2?
Priced in the $30k's, and never bent.

I went down to the SCCA Wild West Rally on Sunday, the only Audi running
was a 1990 Quattro Coupe.
RS2 em, Turbonetics K3/Garrett turbo, Motec controlled, making 380+ hp.
6-speed, Quaife LSDs, locked center differential. The rear lock could be
engaged via a lever attached to the center console, the lever being long
enough that it was only about 3-4 in from the wheel. I think it was a
push on/push off arrangement, very nice.
For the greasecar fans, there was a Golf TDI running on soy based
bio-diesel. I have pics of both the S2 and the TDI at rest and in action,
hope to have them developed soon.
Also, I saw a black A4 and a silver A6, listers? I got a compliment on my
beat up 4ks from a guy driving a VW, needless to say she ran very well on
the drive home...
Later all
Matt
