If you have high miles - valve lifters.  They might be fine (esp. if
they quiet down), but maybe you need ot use a better oil filter (Audi,
Mann, Mahle...) to keep them from draining overnight.

Easy to tell if its exhaust anyway, pop the hood and listen for the
source.  Exh. leaks are pretty obvious usually.
