help......
I have a 85 coupe gt. last night I took the intake boot off and put a new
airfilter in. I also found a intake hose with a huge hole in it. I called
the dealer and ordered the hose, while re-wrapping the old one with duct
tape like it was before.
I got in the car and it had some issues this morning. I would start the
car, it would run and then die. I attributed this to the hose with the hole
in it. I took the wifes car and went to the dealer and got the hose. I
came home and replaced the hose, and it still would not start.
I took the intake boot off again and checked all the connections of all the
hoses. they are all hooked up correctly. I loosened the fuel pressure
regulator and there is pressure.
I can turn the key on and the ISV buzzes in cycles. Is this normal?
Now I got the car to start, but It took forever like it was flooded and then
it would run up to 1500-2000 rpm and then back down to 500 and almost die,
then back up.
now it idles fine, I have to step on the gas to get it to start, where I
never had to do this before. I am letting the car cool down for about 2-3
hours and want to try this again. just to see if it only happens when it is
cold.
does anyone have any other ideas? as to what this could be or what I could
look at to make this work.
Thanks
Nate
