Lister input needed, TDI opinions

I have just ordered a 2003 Jetta TDI wagon.  It did not seem too bad at all
when I test drove it.

Well, my friend of earlier posts has moved to Spain and is settling in to
Barcelona.  He thanks you all for the advice before the move and would like
to ask for opinions from our European based listers regarding the 2.5 diesel
engined VAG cars.  He thinks the 1.9t is a bit slow.  Anybody?  Thanks, John
