Neu-S4

Yes, the 2.7t sticks around for at least 2003 (according to my press kit and
the Audi press website), but it's not a ULEV engine, so I'd be surprised to
see it in the next-generation A6 body.

As far as tuning the V8, somehow engine tuners like Brabus and Dinan tune
the M-B and WMB engines without slapping on superchargers, etc. Are their
modifications pricey? Yes. But, like you said Brett, tuners got lazy and fat
on cheap upgrades. Anyone with a laptop could make a chip.

Maybe now there will be fewer, more professional tuners who have time for
people, rather than the boys from the southern USA (no names mentioned) who
are so big with their trailer and mobile tuning show that they can't be
bothered with questions, etc...

I think you reap what you sow...all these people buying two ECUs and trying
to trick the dealers into thinking they don't have a chip in their
1.8t/S4/2.7t have forced Audi into a certain (albeit harsh) mindset. Not
only are they hardasses, but they move away from turbos. Sure, chip
modifications aren't THE reason for a NA engine, but the demise of those
modification issues/claims isn't a bad benefit for Audi.
