Wheel balancing & climate control

Two items - my (good) experience with wheel/tire balancing and a question about the climate control display.

I have been experiencing vibration in my 96 A4Q recently. After having my wheels balanced on a Hunter GSP9700 wheel balancer, the ride is much smoother. Runs great all the way up to 100 (I only checked on a two mile stretch with traffic). The GSP9700 has a roller that applies load to the tire (simulates road conditions) while balancing. Its like balancing the wheels while they are mounted on the car.

The GSP9700 has some nice features - it can detect the high/heavy spot on your wheel and on your tire, then give positions to move the tire so the balance (before adding weights) is better. The operator can tell the balancer wheel spoke locations and the machine will locate weights behind the spokes. The website - www.gsp9700.com gives lots of technical information and locations for dealers with the machine.

Thanks to the folks at the Tire Rack for pointing me in the right direction.

SECOND ITEM - My climate control display is intermittently on and off. The climate control always works, but the screen flickers or goes off for a while. If I push on the lower left corner, it comes on for a while. Anyone had this problem (and fixed it)???
