Snow Tire Recommendation

Hello listers.
For those of you on a budget, here's a litle secret: MALOYA. It's a Swiss tire company
currently
owned by the Vredestein conglomerate. Last winter I bought their "T" rated snow tire and
it
was excellent in the Canadian snow and slush. Simply a good all-around winter tire, a
modern
unidirectional design. I read some German tests on it and it came out just below the top
brand names
such as Blizzak, WinterContact, Ultra Grip etc. I might be wrong, but I think it scored
higher overall
than Michelin Pilot. Best of all, the price was very good, lower than what I would have
paid for a generic Canadian Tire tire.
Now, here is the bad news: dealers are few and far between. Here in Ottawa there's only
one
and I know of another one in Montreal. For those interested, check the web, there might
be a dealer
near you.
In winter, I'd rather wear cheap winter tires than expensive no-season tires.
No affiliation ......... etc., just a happy customer.
