Tach Signal for 20v engine in type 85

For the 3B you should be able to take the signal from the coil. If you want
to use the ecu, required with the AAN, then you must send the tach out for
Conversion to Motronic 5 Cyl signal

here are quotes from someone with a BTDT with an AAN into his urq.

"Well, the tach modification appears to have worked. FWIW, the movement
appears to be more damped than previous, but not excessive damping.
In fact, it looks pretty good."

He sent his to:

North Hollywood Speedometer
6111 Lankershim Blvd.
North Hollywood, CA 91606

(818)761-5136
Fax (818)761-4857

For the AAN you will also need a signal to pin 50 for the vehicle speed
sensor. Try using the speed sender on the back of your speedometer, the one
that drives the cruise control. One side to ground, the other to ecu.

"So there I was...rolling down the expressway...and "blink"
goes the check engine light....read the code and 1231....
Vehicle Speed Sensor."

Alan,

I can't answer your question for the moment because my 3B coupe quattro
doesn't have the tach hooked up yet, but I'd like to hook the Motronic
signal to the normal entry point if I could find it... could you tell me
where you hooked it up? Or did you use the existent ignition coil wiring
harness?

Thanks,

Mihnea
