Snow Tire Recommendation

Jim,

Haven't had the Alpins on ice yet, but their packed snow and rain
performance indicates that they probably aren't bad there. It's
just on the loose stuff they were quite unstable, at least on
the Subie (which is, in effect, much like the Haldex set-up
in actual usage, though not in HOW they function). That MAY
have had an effect on stability. I discount the weight issue, as
it's about the same weight as my former 4KQ, which was
a paragon of stability (when you wanted it) when in snow
while on the Pacemarks.
