5kt starts then stalls. no error codes

Greetings,


My 85 5kt had developed an interesting problem. when the car is cold it will
start fine. The engine will run but will die after about a minute or two.
then the car will refuse to start. There is also muddy throttle response
toward the end of the running period. When I start the car I can go through
the entire rpm band when the car is about to stall I can only rev to about
4000rpm and that is under much protest.

any advise would be appreciated.
