I've been trying to find a replacement driver's side front reflector for my
4kq. I haven't had too much success, though I did score a BRAND NEW
passenger side lense from my dealer for $15! Anyway, I did acquire a used
driver's side lense, but unfortunately most of the reflective material was
gone. So, I removed the remaining reflective material with some solvent.
Then I applied three strips of 1" chrome striping tape to the lense backing.
Lastly, I affixed the lense to the backing with some silicone around the
edges (hopefully keeping out the water, too). The finished product is
highly reflective and looks nearly identical to the original. So, if you
happen to have a non-broken lense that's loosing its reflective coating,
this is a great solution.
